The empire strikes Barack

Ok, cheesy and biased, yes.  But I found this pretty entertaining.  (My favorite part is when Darth Hillary uses the force to strangle Howard Dean.)

what do you think of hillary for vp? george stephanopolos seems to think she's posturing for it. various pundits say it's the only way to bring the party together. obama, no doubt, hates it. and she would be a loose cannon vp...

but what do you think?

I don't think she would be a loose cannon per se, but she does totally undermine Obama's core theme of post-partisanship. Hillary Clinton has never conducted herself according to a set of organizing principles but rather has always been a partisan - a partisan under the mantle of the Clinton Party, of course. Obama says, "we are the ones we've been waiting for". Clinton exudes, "SHE is the one we've been waiting for".

The other problem is that she would have to backtrack and spin on all of the attacks she made on Obama's (lack of) substance, his patriotism, his readiness to be commander-in-chief, etc. Not an unprecedented feat, but again antithetical to Obama's brand.

No, I think Obama can achieve unity in other ways. First of all, I don't believe all those supporters who say they wouldn't vote for Obama in the general. They are understandably disappointed and (dare I say it?) bitter about her loss right now. They can be wooed. Secondly, Obama could mollify the Clintonites by putting one of her close allies on the ticket -- Rendell or Bayh for example.
